The leadership of the Somaliland Journalists Association (SOLJA) has recently held a series of important meetings with key educational institutions, including the Civil Service Institute (CSI) and the University of Hargeisa, aimed at strengthening cooperation and advancing journalism education and professionalism in Somaliland.

In a meeting with the Director of the Civil Service Institute, discussions focused on reinforcing collaboration between the two institutions and enhancing the knowledge and capacity of journalists across the country. SOLJA Chairman, Shaafici Mohamed Ibrahim, and the organization’s Director, Ismail Ahmed Ismail, expressed their appreciation for the valuable educational opportunities the Institute has provided to journalists and media outlets. The CSI Director, in turn, commended SOLJA’s efforts in promoting professionalism and ethical standards within the media sector.

Similarly, SOLJA’s leadership met with the senior management of the University of Hargeisa to discuss the launch of the fourth batch of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication. The University plays a vital role in improving the quality of journalism in Somaliland by consistently producing well-trained graduates, while SOLJA continues to focus on developing skilled and ethical reporters who adhere to journalistic standards.
