SOLJA and SLMA Meeting to Strengthen Media–Health Sector Collaboration

The Chairman of the Somaliland Journalists Association (SOLJA), Shaafici Mohamed Ibrahim, today held an important meeting at the SOLJA headquarters with the leadership of the Somaliland Medical Association (SLMA).

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two associations, particularly in areas related to public health awareness, the role of the media in promoting health issues, and joint collaboration on matters that are a priority for the wider community.

The SLMA team was led by the Chairman of the association, Dr. Yusuf Mohamed Yusuf Ayman, and included Dr. Abdirahman Ahmed Nuh (Hoorri).

SOLJA was represented at the meeting by its Chairman, Shaafici Mohamed Ibrahim, and the Association’s Executive Director, Ismail Ahmed Ismail.

During the discussions, both sides engaged in in-depth dialogue on establishing sustained cooperation, information sharing on health-related issues, and jointly implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing community health awareness through responsible and professional media.

The meeting concluded with a shared understanding on the importance of closer collaboration between journalists and medical professionals to ensure accurate, reliable, and impactful health information reaches the public.
