SOLJA and UNICEF have Conducted Training on Child rights for Somaliland Journalists

Somaliland Journalists Association SOLJA in partnership UNICEF have trained 30 journalists on Child rights in Somaliland, that training was held at Maansoor Hotel Hargeisa.

Meanwhile, 3  day’s training on child rights  covered, Convention for Child rights, guidelines of working with Children and other important topics for journalists in working and improving the rights of children.  An experienced facilitator for child rights by using international conventions of child rights have proceeded the sessions and other guests from MOLSA have also shared their experiences and context of Media and Children in Somaliland perspective. Somaliland Journalists was trained to apply any laws that guaranteed child protection by avoiding violence against children.

The journalists who’s  participating are also introducing their experience on reporting from issues related to children and how they implements media laws for child rights.

 

The training sessions were very interesting and journalists shared their experiences they have come across back history for interventions and lessons learnt.
