SOLJA has conducted Human rights training for police officers and Investigators at SAHIL Region

Somaliland Journalists Association SOLJA and Somaliland Human Rights Commission SLNHRC in partner with UKAID has conducted Human rights training for police officers and Investigators at SAHIL Region.
The training which was successfully closed on the evening of today participated 30 Police officers from different departments which discussed the perspectives of human rights freedom of expression and the press law provisions and also, they have interactive 2-way discussions about proper procedures for journalist arresting journalists.
The major areas which the training covered include the rights of a suspect during arrest, Investigation, search, detention, and trial: violation to the rights to liberty and security of the person under International Legal framework Somaliland’s duties obligations under National and international laws Pre-trial rights under International/National Laws.
